NBA DFS Yahoo Breakdown

Cody Cook, aka @DProdiogy, here breaking down the NBA DFS 4-6-23 Yahoo Breakdown of the five-game NBA slate!

The NBA season is coming to a close and the playoffs are near! It has been a wild ride!

First game up we have one of the surprise teams of the year with the Cleveland Cavaliers going up against the Orlando Magic as 7.5 point favorites. It's the lowest of the over/unders of the slate at 220.5 points.

The Philadelphia 76ers are led by Joel Embiid as favorites at 3.5 points against the Miami Heat with the over/under at 220.5 points.

A close game is brewing with the San Antonio Spurs as the 2-point favorites against the Portland Trail Blazers while the over/under is set at 230.5 points.

The injury-riddled Utah Jazz are facing off against the Oklahoma City Thunder as 5.5-point favorites with the highest over/under at 237.5 points.

The late-night hammer features the Phoneix Suns as large favorites at 7 points against the Denver Nuggets while the middle of the range over/under comes in hot at 222.5 points.

Our injury report lists Donovan Mitchell, Lauri Markkanen, Evan Mobley, Darius Garland, Walker Kessler, Jordan Clarkson, Jerami Grant, Jusuf Nurkic, and Anfernee Simons listed as out. With those nine players highlighted players as non-options, let's look at the rest of the slat

NBA DFS 4-6-23 Yahoo Breakdown

Point Guard - Skylar Mays, $12, Portland Trail Blazers

The point guard has found himself a home in Portland after being on the Atlanta Hawks and made the most of it. Damian Lillard has been shut down for the season for the team missing the playoffs which has opened up opportunities for Skylar Mays. Seeing over 30 minutes in the past three games has earned over 25 fantasy points. The value is there, especially when competing against a lackluster San Antonio Spurs team.

Other Options-James Harden and Chris Paul

Shooting Guard - Ochai Agbaji, $14, Utah Jazz

As we near the end of the season, roster spots open up. Ochia Agbaji is seeing consistent minutes with the team and racking up injuries as shown above. The rookie has shown he can provide excellent usage rates and playing against the Oklahoma City Thunder should be no problem. This is another value play that will save us money in our lineups.

Other Options-Devin Booker and Josh Giddey

Small Forward - Talen Horton Tucker, $24, Utah Jazz

The former Los Angeles Lakers youngster is seeing golden chances to shine in a Utah Jazz jersey. Similar to Ochai Agbaji, injuries provide Talen Horton-Tucker with more minutes to play. In the past 4 games, the average fantasy score for the young star was over 45 fantasy points. Stock up on the Utah Jazz and the 2020 NBA champ box score is showing!

Other Options-Josh Okogie and Bruce Brown

Power Forward - Cedi Osman, $10, Cleveland Cavilers

The veteran has been a solid fantasy option off the bench for the Cleveland Cavaliers. With injuries to the stars on the team, Cedi Osman will have to rise to the occasion. The bare minimum price tag will help find a stud to lock and load for this slate. I am expecting Cedi Osman to start with the injuries that piled up and the team clinching the playoffs.

Other Options-Aaron Gordon and Jimmy Butler

Center - Joel Embiid, $57, Philadelphia 76ers

Time to pay attention to the slate stud and this is a smash spot. The possible MVP for the season is preparing his run to win the MVP award. Coming off a 79 fantasy point game, Joel Embiid wants to prove his worth and I want solid raw production on the slate. Is he worthy of being MVP for the year? I will leave the decision to the crowd!

Other Options-DeAndre Ayton and Wendell Carter Junior
