NBA DFS 5-12-21 DraftKings Value Picks

on

Welcome to the NBA DFS 5-12-21 DraftKings Value Picks! We’ve got a six-game slate with some great value picks and even greater pairings.

The cheap pairing is the Spurs’ Dejounte Murray ($7,100) and Jakob Poeltl ($5,300). Murray is averaging 30.7 fantasy points in his last ten games, and Poeltl is a rebounding machine.

The intermediate pairing is the Hawks’ Bogdan Bogdanovic ($7,300) and John Collins ($6,700). Bogdanovic has played out of his mind, and Collins is one of the best forwards in the NBA (one of my favorite players), averaging 45.5 fantasy points per game this season.

The expensive pairing is the Mavericks’ Luka Doncic ($10,800) and Josh Richardson ($5,100). Doncic is one of the best scorers, and Richardson is coming off a 20-point game against the Cavaliers.

Six-Game Slate

Washington Wizards @ Atlanta Hawks
San Antonio Spurs @ Brooklyn Nets
Boston Celtics @ Cleveland Cavaliers
New Orleans Pelicans @ Dallas Mavericks
Portland Trail Blazers @ Utah Jazz
Houston Rockets @ Los Angeles Lakers

Point Guard

Jordan Clarkson, Utah Jazz $7,500

You are going to have to pay up for a point guard with tonight’s limited matchups. Plus, most of the starting point guards are injured, and their backups are injured, so save yourself the headache and pick Clarkson.

He is averaging 25.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and one steal in his previous five games.

Clarkson is facing off against the Trail Blazers, who allow fourth-most fantasy points to point guards. They allow 25.6 points, 8.5 assists, and 7.3 rebounds per game to point guards.

Shooting Guard

Kevin Huerter, Atlanta Hawks $4,900

Huerter is struggling to regain his shot after returning from a shoulder sprain. He is shooting 33.3 percent from the three-point range since returning from injury; his career average is 37.6 percent. So, the shoulder is clearly bothering him, but tonight he has a great matchup against Washington.

The Wizards allow the fourth-most fantasy points to shooting guards, allowing 23.8 points, seven rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game to shooting guards.

Huerter is a risky pick because of the shooting slump, but his matchup is too good to pass on him.

Small Forward

Evan Fournier, Boston Celtics $5,500

Another player has fallen for the Celtics, and this time it was Jaylen Brown. His injury puts more pressure on this struggling team, and it forces Fournier to become one of Boston’s leading scorers behind Jayson Tatum.

Fournier has been a reliable scorer averaging 21.5 points in his past ten games and is shooting 63 percent from three-point range. So, he is poised to have a great night against Cleveland.

The Cavaliers allow 22.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game to small forwards per game this season.

Everything seems to be a disaster for the Celtics, but Fournier will be the lone bright spot at the tail end of their cursed season, and most importantly, a bright spot for DFS players.

Power Forward

Keldon Johnson, San Antonio Spurs $4,600

The Spurs are playing well because both their young and old players are playing out of their minds, and Johnson’s 20-point game against the Bucks, which is proof that good signs are coming.

Johnson is averaging 13.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in his previous ten games. Tonight, He has a matchup against the Nets, who allow the sixth-most fantasy points to power forwards.

The Nets allow 21.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game to power forwards.

Center

Guillermo Hernangomez, New Orleans Pelicans $5,600

Willy Hernangomez has been a solid contributor in the paint, with Zion Williamson being out with the broken finger.

Hernangomez is averaging a double-double in his past six games, averaging 11.7 points and 10.3 rebounds.

He has an okay matchup against the Mavericks to pad his numbers as a member of the Pelicans’ starting lineup.

The Mavericks allow 21.7 points, 14.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game to centers this season.

About Travis Argo

I'm a die hard fan of teams that constantly disappointment me every season. So, I write about fantasy sports to forget my sorrows. That's hard sometimes because I'm a Pacers correspondent for Fantasypros.com. I also recently graduated with honors from UNCC. Go Niners...I guess.
