on

Welcome to the NBA DFS 5-7-21 DraftKings picks article!

Last night there was a simple seven-game slate but tonight there will be a huge slate with ten games!

Making the right picks will be crucial tonight with so many games to choose from.

These are the higher-priced players I expect to pay off.

10 Game Slate

Pelicans @ 76ers
Celtics @ Bulls
Timberwolves @ Heat
Magic @ Hornets
Rockets @ Bucks
Cavaliers @Mavericks
Nuggets @ Jazz
Lakers @ Trail Blazers
Knicks @ Suns
Spurs @ Kings

Guards

Kemba Walker, Boston Celtics, ($7,600)

After returning from a four-game absence (oblique), Walker led the Celtics in scoring against the Magic on Wednesday. Walker should be a great play tonight with Jaylen Brown expected to miss another game (ankle sprain).

When Kemba plays without Brown his scoring improves from 17 ppg to 24 ppg, and his usage goes up to 29.8%.

The Bulls allow the third-most assists to point guards (8.92), and he should be able to smash value with his role increasing.

Over his last five games, he’s averaged 44 DK points.

Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers, ($9,700)

Lillard looks to have bounced back from his slump last month, scoring 32 points against the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Dame has scored 30 or more points in three of his last four games, averaging 56.4 DK points each game over that span.

While the Lakers have a good defense on paper, the absence of Lebron James has hurt the defense some and I expect Lillard to be a big reason if the Blazers win tonight.

In the two games that he’s faced the Lakers this season, Dame has averaged 33 points and 6 assists.

Ben Simmons, Philidelphia 76ers, ($7,400)

Simmons has been very up and down this season and has frustrated many fantasy owners.  I’m going out on a limb here and picking him as a risky play because his salary is low at $7,400.

The Pelicans have been playing at the second-highest pace in the league over the past three games which should allow Simmons more possessions and get out in fast breaks. They’re currently allowing the third-most fastbreak points over that span as well.

The Pelicans allow the second-most DK points (51.79) to point guards this season, and Simmons can make up for his lack of scoring with his peripheral stats.

Forwards

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks, ($11,000)

You should start any star player going against the Rockets and it’s even more obvious when it’s the Greek Freak they’re going against. Giannis was injured in the first minute in the last game against the Rockets but still managed to pull off 4.5 DK points!

While this may turn into a blowout, Giannis has the ability to rack up points in reduced time. The former MVP is the easiest option to choose from on this slate and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was owned by most.

With the season coming to an end, the MVP race is heating up, and look for Giannis to add this game to his season resume.

Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics, ($10,500)

Yes, I know Tatum is priced extremely high but hear me out on why he’s a top pick tonight. The All-Star forward is having a career year in points, rebounds, and assists.

Tatum has averaged nearly 31 points and 8 rebounds in games this season that he’s played without Brown. With the Celtics playing to avoid the play-in tournament, Tatum will look to carry his team once again.

Over the past four games, he’s averaging 38 points and 58 DK points per game.  In the two games against the Bulls so far he’s averaged 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists.

Joe Ingles, Utah Jazz, ($6,700)

The injuries of Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley have allowed Ingles to become the main facilitator on the team. Over the past three games, he has averaged eight assists which is nearly double his season average.

The Nuggets currently allow the fourth-most DK points (44.48) to small forwards and the biggest reason is that they allow the most assists (5.45).

Ingles’ usage rate raises by five percentage points (20.3%) when playing without Mike Conley this season. The Jazz have been a part of blowouts which has resulted in Ingles not playing as many minutes but I expect this game to be a close one.
