The 2021/22 NBA season is now fully up and running and hopefully, you have got off to a great start in your fantasy league.

Here is a look at which players have made a big impact in the early stages of the campaign for their respective teams and which ones you should strongly consider picking up.

Steph Curry (Golden State Warriors)

It’s difficult to incorporate too many elite players in your NBA fantasy basketball team as, like in all fantasy sports leagues, they eat into a lot of your budget. That said, Steph Curry is putting down an early marker for being the MVP this season. The form he is producing is similar to what the Golden State Warriors guard showed in 2015 and 2016.

Curry has already broken his own record for being the fastest player to reach 100 three-pointers in a season. He has got there in 19 games this time, an impressive feat. There is arguably nobody better in the league from the three-point range than the two-time MVP.

The likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant and Nikola Jokic were probably favored by most fantasy team owners before the campaign began. If you were in that camp, now may be the time to switch one of those players with Curry.

As of the 29th of November, the Golden State Warriors are +600 in the NBA odds for the Championship this season. They are 18-2 through their opening 20 games of the campaign. Steve Kerr’s side look the team to beat in the Western Conference. Curry and his teammates look set for a successful year ahead.

Scottie Barnes (Toronto Raptors)

The leading rookie in the NBA season following the opening two months of the season has been Scottie Barnes. The Toronto Raptor player was the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and he is proving why he went off the board so early.

Barnes is scoring an average of 15.2 points per game. He became only the second Raptor in franchise history to score 100 points through their opening six games in the NBA. Since then, he has continued to break records in the league.

The Florida State graduate is going to keep improving this season as he gains more experience in the league. His figures on the road are even better than they are at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, which says a lot about the player’s character.

Barnes is being tipped to be the Rookie of the Year by a number of pundits in the sport, including former NBA star Charles Barkley. He looks to be the stand-out player in this Toronto team already, and he is helping them recover from their disastrous season last year.

It is not just offensively where Barnes is proving to be very effective, his defensive skills have also been impressive. He is a versatile player who should keep on picking up big fantasy scores when he is on the court.

Now is a good time to snap up Barnes as his value is likely to keep on going up as the basketball season progresses.

Patty Mills (Brooklyn Nets)

The league leader in three-pound percentage this season in Patty Mills. The Brooklyn Nets point guard was averaging at 50% from outside the rim in the opening two months of the campaign.

Mills’ hot form is a huge boost to the Nets who are having to cope without Kyrie Irving. The Australian is helping to fill the void left by his teammate and is enjoying himself at his new franchise after moving to Brooklyn from San Antonio Spurs earlier this year.

The 33-year-old hit 151 threes last season with Spurs, a career-best for the Australia national team player. He looks on course to break that record and could even reach 250 if he continues at this rate.

Mills was part of the San Antonio team which lifted the NBA Championship in 2014. He looks in with a great chance of a second championship this season, and he can play a big role in helping Steve Nash’s team fulfill their ambition.

Good luck with all three of the above players. Hopefully, they can make a difference in your NBA fantasy league.
