The Fantasy Edge 2019 Week 3: Aftershock

on

The fantasy world gets rocked every year by one thing or another, but Week 2 really changed the texture of the season.

The Seahawks went into Heinz field and beat the Steelers 28-26. That’s the only headline out of Pittsburgh anyone wanted to see.

The Rams downing the Saints 27-9 in Los Angeles is another.

Two major quarterbacks with collateral impact on at least a dozen fantasy relevant players are out for an extended period of time.

So, here we are. Welcome to The Fantasy Edge 2019 Week 3 podcast page.

Jonathan Chan, Kevin Hou, Richard Savill are your hosts for fantasy advice and insights.

In this podcast we discuss:

Cleveland Browns at New York Jets

If you managed to watch this entire game live, you did better than we could. Another quarterback out and another new name introduced. One example of how bad the Jets were. There was a play where not one of the Jets’ offensive linemen picked up a single player from a Cleveland blitz. That just encourages more packages. Sure enough, that’s what the Jets received. The Browns came away with a thumping 23-3 victory. Odell Beckham Jr. went 6-161-1 and cleaned up well for his fantasy owners.

Ben Roethlisberger and Drew Brees

Although the largest body count in metaphor came out of Miami on Sunday, the real ones took out a major chunk of our fantasy projections entering the 2019 season. Which players are most impacted on the Saints and Steelers going forward? Is Mason Rudolph destined as the new franchise quarterback in Pittsburgh? Does Teddy Bridgewater have enough ability to keep the Saints afloat until Drew Brees returns later in the season?
