The Fantasy Edge Week 4: Storm Front

This week on the Fantasy Edge we take a look at flash breakouts and which we should ignore and others we might want to pay closer attention to. Marcedes Lewis in London was one such flash breakout, but could we be overlooking something here? Another one-season wonder, Gary Barnidge, came out of nowhere and had a big season too.

Richard Savill runs down the very strange Bears and Packers game, interrupted by a freak electrical storm for 47 minutes, which contributed to bad footing and injuries. The game was not particularly fantasy strong for Bears, but the fantasy players on the Packers had a fair amount of success

Alex Hamrick joins the program with his starts and sits of the week.

Tyler Thompson delivers his Stream-o-Matic defenses for Week 4.

Richard previews the weekend with game of the week, players to watch, sleepers and much more!

Plus all the fantasy news, views and stories from around the NFL.

In this podcast we discuss:

Bears 14 at Packers 35

A heavy electrical storm, not forecast, rolled into Green Bay right after the 1st quarter. It contributed to changing the whole pecking order of the Green Bay backfield. The biggest story is that the Packers lost both Ty Mongomery (broken ribs) and Jamaal Williams (knee) in the first half. Montgomery played through injury without knowing the problem, but suddenly left to the locker room.

Then the storm front came in and delayed the start of the second quarter. The heavy rain caused bad footing and Jamaal Williams fell and appeared in a lot of pain. This left Aaron Jones and Aaron Ripkowski to carry the ball. Jones will be high priority on waiver wire next week. Shocking events!

Steelers at Ravens

The Steelers have lost their last four meetings in Baltimore. The Ravens really shut the door on the Steelers when they visit. Will it be the same this time?

Devin Funchess, WR, Panthers

A top waiver add this week. What are the positives and negatives concerning Funchess? Is his status really any higher if Benjamin doesn’t play?

All this and much more on The Fantasy Edge…
