Tomlin’s Tips: 2019 Week 15 Football Bets

I promised a profitable college week and I came through! Now with the 2019 Week 15 football bets I will need to focus back on the pros.

My conference championship picks elevated my college best bets to a winning record on the year. However my NFL best bets have taken a downswing. Luckily I still have three weeks to right the ship before the playoffs. I also have a couple of Super Bowl-winning coach/quarterback combos coming off of losses.

As always, a simple disclaimer: sports betting should be entertainment. The 2019 Week 15 Football Bets: Tomlin’s Tips will not make you rich. Anyone with picks saying they can make you rich is a liar and I would bet against them. The 2019 Week 15 Football Bets : Tomlin’s Tips will be about having fun wagering on sports while trying to stay even or break a small profit. With that said, if you need a new option for betting, is a solid option. It provides you with all the updated news you need to know about betting in Tennessee, including the best places to place them.

So let’s get to the 2019 Week 15 Football Bets: Tomlin’s Tips. All of the information in the Week 15 Tomlin’s Tips is up to date as of December 12th.

NFL Week 15 Tomlin’s Tips

Best NFL Bets:  2-3 last week, 32-37-1 overall

Each week I will pick my five best bets for the NFL weekend.  This is similar to the most famous handicapping contest in the world, The Las Vegas Supercontest, where the winner gets around a million bucks.

New England Patriots -9 at Cincinnati Bengals

Since 2002 when the Patriots are coming off of a 2-game losing streak they are 7-2 against the spread, 9-0 straight up. They are winning these games by an average margin of 19.4 points per game and covering the spread by 13.2 points per game.

New England’s offense has been anemic as of late, but they are averaging 33.1 points scored in these situations. Oh, and they are cheating again, so it should be an easy cover.

Seattle Seahawks -6 at Carolina Panthers

Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson are 4-0 straight up and against the spread following a loss by double-digits. They have won these games by nearly 16 points per contest and covered the spread by almost 10 points per game.

The Panthers are in an absolute free fall, losing five straight games (four of them not really that close) as well as their coach.

With a difficult last three games, they are in position to sneak into the Top Five of the draft to find a Cam Newton replacement.

Los Angeles Rams -2 at Dallas Cowboys

The talent level between teams in the NFL is much closer than anyone gives it credit. Therefore, coaching and motivation are huge factors.

Sean McVay is the most promising young coach in the league. Jason Garrett is a dead man walking.

The Rams are just a game out of a playoff spot. This game means literally nothing to the Cowboys playoff chances, as they just need to beat the Eagles and Redskins. Oh, and Dak Prescott is atrocious as well as the most over-rated player in the league.

Denver Broncos +10 at Kansas City Chiefs

Denver has transformed into a different team with Drew Lock at the helm. The Rookie has a 111.4 quarterback rating, 83.3 QBR and is averaging 8.1 yards per attempt on 73% completions.

Per Pro Football Focus, Denver has the seventh-best rush offense over the whole season, including the horrible quarterback play earlier this year. Kansas City has the worst rush defense.

Pittsburgh Steelers -1.5 vs. Buffalo Bills

The Steelers are the most under-valued team in the league. In their last ten games they are 8-2 straight up and (depending on the number you got) 9-1 against the spread.

Everyone is thrown off of their scent because of the 0-3 start (which in retrospect, those three teams are 31-8) and the helmet-hitting loss to the Browns.

Buffalo still has zero wins against a team that is currently above .500 when they have their current quarterback (they beat the Titans in Mariota’s last appearance).

Other Games Picked: 3-7 last week, 65-60 overall

I’ll put my picks in for all of NFL games. Some people are in pools where the pick every game each week. Home teams are in CAPS.

Survivor Pool Plays: 1-0 last week, 11-3 overall

One of the most popular games now is survivor pools. You pick one winner, no spread, every week. You can never use the same team twice.

New England Patriots

If you’re still alive, you probably don’t have many options. I would still go with New England as my top choice even though odds are you have used them.

Other Options, 2-1 last week, 28-7 on the year: San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens

NFL 10-Point Teaser of the Week: 2-0 last week, 12-3 overall

My brother and I’s favorite bet: you take 10 points extra either off or on the spread. You combine three different teams with the 10 extra points and all have to hit to win.

New England Patriots +1, New Orleans Saints +1.5 and San Francisco 49ers PK

Take the big favs and don’t look back this week.

Game Total of the Week: 0-1 last week, 6-8 overall

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins, UNDER 41.5

The Eagles will be without their top couple of receivers and seem to have some backfield injuries as well. Washington lost their most explosive player, Derrius Guice, yet again. The Eagles will look to just get in and get the win to stay alive in the NFC East hunt.

College Best Bets: 8-5 last week, 45-44-1 overall

Navy Midshipmen -9.5 vs. Army Black Knights

Normally you just take the points in the Army-Navy game, especially when it’s nearly double-digits. There has been only one game in the last nine years that had a margin larger than a touchdown.

However, I think this year is different. Navy is 9-2 with its only losses to teams with a combined record 22-3. Army beat just three FBS teams all season, and none of them reached five wins.

An Army win would give them their second-longest win streak in this game since World War II. Navy halts it, big time.

Early Bowls I Like:

  • Georgia Bulldogs -7 over Baylor Bears
  • Utah Utes -7 over Texas Longhorns
  • Alabama Crimson Tide -7 over Michigan Wolverines
  • Appalachian State Mountaineers -16.5 over UAB Blazers
  • Marshall Thundering Herd +18 over UCF Knights

All of these lines will probably move against you so I would suggest taking them now.

Bonus Draft Kings Lineup:

And bet the over on Drew Brees‘ yards/touchdowns for Monday night because I’m playing against him in three different playoff matchups.
