Tomlin’s Tips: 2022-23 NFL Wild Card Round Football Bets

NFL Playoffs

2023 NFL Week 18 Football Bets

It was one of my highest profit weekends of the season last week and the 2022-23 NFL Wild Card Round Football Bets brings even more opportunity for winners.

I ended the college season on a high note as I absolutely nailed the National Championship game. I ended the bowls with a 2.1-unit profit, giving me a cumulative 13.4-unit profit in all college football games. With as many picks as I made (132 total ATS picks), that is pretty strong.

As we enter the 2022-23 NFL Wild Card Round Football Bets, there are more trends that we can use to compare teams as well as their overall statistics for the season.

I had a great +4.8-unit profit last week. I am now up 35.6 units. That would mean if you placed a $100 wager on every one of my picks, you would be up exactly $3,560 for the season.

As always, a simple disclaimer: sports betting should be entertainment. The 2022-23 NFL Wild Card Round Football Bets will not make you rich. Anyone with picks saying they can make you rich is a liar and I would bet against them.

The 2022-23 NFL Wild Card Round Football Bets will be about having fun wagering on sports while trying to stay even or break a small profit.

All of the information for the 2022-23 NFL Wild Card Round Football Bets is up to date as of January 12th.

Each week I will pick my five best bets for the NFL weekend. This is similar to the most famous handicapping contest in the world, The Las Vegas Supercontest, where the winner gets over a million bucks.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3 vs. Dallas Cowboys

This is not a reverse jinx, I promise. I have been driving the “Dak is not a good football player” bandwagon for a few years now and it has never been truer than now.

Questions: when was the last time Dak did NOT throw an interception? Answer: November 20th against the Vikings, which will be over eight weeks when this game kicks off. Prescott only had two games all season with a clean sheet in the interception category, the other being the home game against the Lions.

If you take out those two games against pitiful NFC North defenses, Dak only averaged 237 yards per game with 1.5 interceptions on 64% completions. That is an 86.1 quarterback ranking, which would rank 25th in the league just above Justin Fields (rushing is not included in that stat).

Speaking of quarterback rushing, Dak has to run the ball more. If he runs the ball six times in a game the Cowboys are 16-5 Straight Up and if he hits seven attempts, they are 8-0.

On the other side, Tom Brady drifted through the season yet still hosts a playoff game with a losing record. He turned it on against Carolina when he needed to with 432 yards and three touchdowns passing. He also had his first rushing touchdown of the season showing that he is hitting the “on” switch.

The talk about Dallas on grass has spread, as it slows their pass rush down. Furthermore, Dallas has made their name on defense with the second-best-in-the-league sack rate. The problem is Tampa Bay had the lowest percentage in the league of allowing sacks.

In the Cowboys’ wins, they average almost four sacks per game. In their losses, they only get two sacks a game. Brady avoids the pressure, attacks the depleted secondary deep, and wins this game outright.
