2023 NFL Week 18 Football Bets

Tomlin’s Tips are back again in 2023! While the NFL is a week away, I will give you some season-long props as well as some 2023 College Football Week 1 Football Bets.

We had another profitable season in 2022. While my overall NFL picks were slightly down, every other aspect of the betting card was in the green. This led to an overall profit of 31.1 units. That means if you bet $100 on every bet I laid out, you were up $3,110.

In particular, my lock of the week was +12.4 units and my college football bets were +11.3 units.

So let’s get to some betting!

As always, a simple disclaimer: sports betting should be entertainment. The 2023 College Football Week 1 Football Bets will not make you rich. Anyone with picks saying they can make you rich is a liar and I would bet against them.

The 2023 College Football Week 1 football bets will be about having fun wagering on sports while trying to stay even or break a small profit.

All of the information for this week is up to date as of August 31st, 2023.

Philadelphia Eagles OVER 11.5 Wins (EVEN), WIN NFC East -135

These are my best bets for the NFL Preseason. Philly basically ran away with the division last season. Now, the Cowboys have gotten worse and the Eagles might have drafted the best two defensive players in the draft. LOCKS.

Minnesota Vikings WIN NFC North +250

Everyone is on the Lions and Bears as the surprise teams in the playoffs. I would say the Vikings are still the favorite to win the division. There’s too much value at getting two and a half to one.

Make Playoffs Parlays: Bills and Chiefs (-200), Chiefs and Eagles (-375), Bills and Eagles (-220)

If all three quarterbacks stay healthy, this is free money.

Comeback Player of the Year: Damar Hamlin, -225

I mean, this is easy, right?

Cowboys NOT to Make the Playoffs: +215

The schedule is harder, the line is older, and the running back depth is weak.

Steelers to Make the Playoffs: +150

There are two wide open wild card spots in the AFC and I like Tomlin to get one of them.

Commanders to Make the Playoffs: +285

I think Sam Howell might have something.

49ers OVER 10.5 Wins

No matter who is at quarterback it seems like Kyle Shanahan can get 11 wins.

Patriots OVER 7 Wins

I think their defense will do this on their own.

Raiders UNDER 7 Wins

Just a disaster at quarterback and on defense.

Colts UNDER 6.5 Wins

I am not an Anthony Richardson believer and their running back room is barren.

Lions UNDER 9.5 Wins

It’s the freaking Lions still.

Cowboys UNDER 10.5 Wins

Too much Dak and Pollard.

Falcons UNDER 8.5 Wins

Um, what? People think Desmond Ridder can lead them to a winning season?

Cardinals UNDER 4 Wins

They are tanking.

Most Passing Yards: Justin Herbert, +500

Kellen Moore is coming in to sling it around and Herbert has even more weaponry.

Most Rushing Yards: Nick Chubb, +500

I do not have enough Chubb on my Fantasy Football rosters… because he is not on every single one.

Most Receiving Yards: Stefon Diggs, +2200

This should be closer to 10-1.

Aaron Rodgers OVER 3900.5 Passing Yards, OVER 28.5 Touchdowns

I’m prepared for an “eff-you” season by Rodgers.

Justin Herbert OVER 4450.5 Passing Yards

This might be 500 yards too low.

Dak Prescott OVER 12.5 Interceptions

Lock.

College Best Bets (52-37-1 in 2022, +11.3 units)

TCU Horned Frogs -20 over Colorado Buffaloes

Coach Prime is in for a rude awakening when the runner-up from the National Championship takes the field Saturday. Chandler Morris takes over at quarterback for TCU, who many believed was better than Max Duggan last year. Colorado completely remade their team but they will just be out-classed here. TCU will be out for blood after the humiliating loss to end their season.

Washington Huskies -14 vs. Boise State Broncos

This is not the same Boise State from years past. Washington is a legit Pac-12 title contender and the Broncos will just be out-matched. The line is almost a touchdown too low.

Penn State Nittany Lions -19.5 vs. West Virginia Mountaineers

Get to know the names Drew Allar and Nicholas Singleton. They are the sophomore quarterback/running back duo for Penn State that will become household names this season. Both are already projected as Top-10 NFL draft picks in two years and I think their big seasons start off with a bang against a putrid West Virginia defense.

Wyoming Cowboys +14.5 vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders +40 at Alabama Crimson Tide

Rice Owls +35.5 at Texas Longhorns

All three of these favorites are in massive look-ahead spots to their game of the year next weekend. The Tide and Horns will face each other while Tech has Oregon on deck. Texas and Alabama will cruise, but pull the gas off the pedal. Tech and Wyoming will end up in a dog/rock fight.

LSU Tigers -2.5 vs. Florida State Seminoles

I think there might be too much hype around Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis. His final numbers from 2022 looked really good, but I feel like he really took advantage of three bad defenses and was quite average in the rest of the season. As he enters his sixth year of college football, we need to pump the breaks. Year Two of the Brian Kelly era in Baton Rouge will show more of his style and his players. I think LSU uses this as a springboard for the season to be an actual contender.
