2022 Fantasy Football Week 7 Drop List

All 32 teams in the NFL will have begun preparations for the 2024/25 NFL season which begins on the 5th of September. There will be several important events before then, with the NFL Draft and free agency both offering the chance for the franchises to add to their rosters.

Here is a look at the top teams heading into the new season. Players from these respective teams are likely to have high fantasy value in 2024.

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers came up just one victory short in the 2023/24 campaign. They ended the season as the NFC champions but were denied a first Super Bowl since 1994 by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kyle Shanahan’s team were leading at half-time at Super Bowl LVIII and they looked to be on course to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Unfortunately for them, Patrick Mahomes inspired the Chiefs to another success.

San Francisco have a roster that is packed with talent on offense and defense. 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey tops our power league after leading the league in rushing yards last season, while wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel proved to be a big threat.

Shanahan’s biggest job next season may be to lift his players from the disappointment of losing their second Super Bowl in four years. With the help of one or two additions in either free agency or the NFL Draft, they can book another ticket back at the Super Bowl.

Kansas City Chiefs

No team in history has won three consecutive Super Bowls before but the Chiefs can do that next season. Their latest triumph confirms their status as a dynasty, as it was their third victory in five years.

With Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce on offense, Kansas City are always going to be one of the leading teams in the NFL. They have been able to outscore teams even when their defense has been ranked as one of the lowest in the league. That is no longer the case, as their defense is now in the top 10 in the NFL.

The Chiefs should not have any problems defending their AFC West title next season. They are likely to be one of the leading seeds in the playoffs again, and they have shown they can deliver their best football when it matters the most.

As of the 17th of February, Kansas City are 13/2 in the NFL odds to win Super Bowl 58 and make history with a hat-trick of wins.

Baltimore Ravens

There were high hopes for the Baltimore Ravens last season. They finished the regular season with a 13-4 record, the best in the league. Quarterback Lamar Jackson had an excellent year, as reflected at the NFL Honors, as he was named the league’s MVP for a second time. He was supported by Ravens RB Gus Edwards who tops the depth chart as their leading back.

Unfortunately for Ravens fans, their team produced one of their worst performances of the season in the AFC Championship game. They were no match for the Chiefs who looked far more experienced in playoff football.

Baltimore can take a lot of positives into the new season. They had eight Pro Bowlers in 2023, including guard Kevin Zeitler and centre Tyler Linderbaum, who did a great job protecting their quarterback. They are set to score heavily once again later this year.

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions finished the 2023/24 with a joint-franchise record for the most wins in an NFL season. Their 12-5 record was also the best record in the NFC along with the 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.

Head coach Dan Campbell has turned Detroit from one of the worst teams in the NFL to Super Bowl contenders. The Lions fell just short last season, losing to the 49ers in the NFC Championship game.

Former first-round pick Jared Goff is enjoying his football in Detroit and is showing why the Los Angeles Rams selected him first overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. He has been helped by some impressive Lions WRs on the depth chart and one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

Detroit should be even stronger in 2024. Their roster will have learned a lot from last season and if they continue their upward trajectory, they can reach their first Super Bowl in the franchise’s history.

All four teams will be hoping to book their place at Super Bowl LIX. It takes place in New Orleans on the 9th of February 2025.
