Underdog Fantasy NBA Pick’em 12-1-21

We are back with another edition of Underdog Fantasy NBA Pick’em. We have a huge nine-game slate tonight, 12-1-21, with a whole bunch of fun games being played.

With so many games, it gives us an opportunity to utilize star power tonight and really diversify our picks.

The most fun game on the slate tonight, in my opinion, is the Philadelphia 76ers vs the Boston Celtics (-3). Both teams have identical records at 11-10 and are only a handful of games behind the first-place Brooklyn Nets. You can be sure both teams will put on a show tonight.

This year I will be sharing Underdog Fantasy over/under prop bet picks – under their Pick’em tag. I will pick whether a player will get more or less than their projection generated by the app.  You have to make at least two picks from players on different teams, and you can’t pick the same player more than once. To win, you must get all of your picks right!

You can choose up to five over/under’s with a multiplier pay-out scale – 3x,  6x, 10x, 20x and you can bet as little as just $1!

Underdog Fantasy NBA Pick’em 12-1-21

Nikola Jokic – Over 44.5 points, rebounds, and assists at Magic

Jokic is coming off a monster performance where he dropped 24 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists against a very good Miami Heat team. Tonight, he gets a pretty easy matchup against an Orlando Magic team that will have an extremely difficult time guarding this Serbian Monster.

On the year, Jokic is averaging 26.2 points, 13.7 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game.

Jokic has also scored over 20 points in 10 consecutive games and has double-digit rebounds in every game this year except three. The Magic give up the 27th most amount of points and rebounds to opposing bigs, so this is a prime game for Jokic to flirt with a triple-double. He should exceed this projection quite easily.

Trae Young – Over 26.5 points at Pacers

Trae is a superstar, plain and simple. There is no denying what a prolific scorer and exciting player he is. Young is riding a hot streak right now, scoring over 30 points in four straight games.

On the year, Trae is averaging 26 points per game and gets a matchup against an Indiana Pacers squad that gives up the 17th most points to opposing guards.

Trae Young is coming off a game where he scored 33 points against a very good New York Knicks team. Trae still had his way and he should continue to thrive tonight in this matchup. Indiana has defensive weapons, but I don’t see anyone on the Pacers capable of slowing down this superstar. He should clobber this projection.

Spencer Dinwiddie – Under 24.5 points, rebounds, and assists vs Timberwolves

Dinwiddie is a fantastic and very smart basketball player. He is averaging 14.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists. Most notably, he is coming off a game where he scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds and added one assist. The issue here is, Dinwiddie is a better real-life basketball player than Fantasy player and that’s where his production takes a hit. He has gone over 30 Fantasy points in only two of his last six games and now gets a matchup against an up-and-coming Minnesota Timberwolves team.

The Wolves give up the 14th most points to opposing players and are 4-point underdogs tonight against the Wizards. Dinwiddie should get his full run (30 minutes), but Minnesota has the defensive weapons to contain him and not let him stuff the stat sheet. I think Dinwiddie gets close to exceeding this projection but will fall just short.

Darius Garland – Under 18.5 points at Heat

This is just an extremely tough matchup for a young player like Garland against an exceptionally good defensive team in the Miami Heat. The Heat give up the second least amount of points to opposing guards, and this is just a brutal matchup for the Cavs.

Garland has scored over 18 points in six consecutive games and is averaging 18.6 points per game.

Darius Garland is an electric player, but the matchup tonight screams under. Looking for Garland to struggle tonight against a very good Heat team.

Joel Embiid – Under 23.5 points at Celtics

This is the most fun game in my opinion tonight, as both teams are trying to stay afloat in the Eastern Conference. It should be a close game, so both team’s starters should play heavy minutes.

Embiid is coming off a game where he scored 16 points in a win against the Orlando Magic and has only scored over 23 points in three games all season. This is an extremely tough matchup against a very good Boston team who gives up the 21st least amount of points to opposing big men.

Joel Embiid is going to have his hands full. The Celtics will throw everything they can at slowing down the 76ers big man.

Embiid just doesn’t look right the last few games and his scoring is definitely taking a hit. On the year, Embiid is averaging 22.8 points per game and has been struggling offensively. I don’t see this as a bounce-back spot for the All-Star, and I am going to take the under here.
