2021 Fantasy Football Key Quarterback Offseason Moves

The Houston Texans are in disarray at the moment as they seem to be a National Football League (NFL) franchise that is currently burning to the ground.

The franchise have undergone a number of challenges over the last football season, with the organization having had a huge number of problems that many do not face for a significant period, let alone inside the space of around 12 months.

They traded their main offensive weapon, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals before going on a run that saw them end up 0-4 after their 2020 NFL season start. They then decided to fire Head Coach, Bill O’Brien, before missing the NFL Playoffs after finishing with an overall season record of 4-12.

Rumours of Deshaun Watson wanting out emerged

That then led to rumours that Deshaun Watson wants out of Houston, with the star quarterback said to have been frustrated with the move that saw Hopkins leave the franchise. In addition, his future is likely going to remain further in the air as star defensive end, JJ Watt has since left the organization for a fresh start.

According to reports from ESPN’s NFL insider, Adam Schefter, Watson is said to be “one unhappy camper and has no plans to be with the Houston Texans anytime soon, if ever”. This has all emerged despite signing a new long-term contract back in September that was reported to be worth an extension of $156 million, although that just gives Watson some control over this NFL football future.

But, what happens next could be anyone’s guess at the moment, although many that have an opinion on what might happen will head to betting24.

What could happen next?

With the NFL Draft set to take place, it remains to be seen if the Houston Texans look to draft a new quarterback, however they do not currently have a first-round pick. This would mean they will either have to make a trade, with Watson perhaps involved, or they will need to find a diamond in the rough as all of the top calibre franchise quarterbacks will likely be taken before they are on the clock.

There are a number of potential landing spots for Watson, with the 25-year-old thought to be one of the top players in his position in the whole of the National Football League. Teams such as the Miami Dolphins, who could look to trade their own rising star at the position, Tua Tagovailoa, for the Texans star.

Watson could do a range of things

If he does not get the move away from the Texans that he clearly wants, then two other options could ultimately happen. Watson could potentially sit out of the upcoming NFL season and play hardball as he looks to force a move away from the franchise, or he could look to knuckle down and try and improve the team’s record from last season.

With a new coach in David Tulley, things could be different in Texas, although there might be a little too much for Tulley to do to try and convince Watson that his future remains in Houston and not elsewhere, like Miami.
